Welcome to Country Properties Estate Agents Knebworth

Overview

Country Properties Knebworth has been owned and run since 1985 by Tony Cox who has over 40 years’ experience in the Estate Agency business.  Tony started his career as a junior for an Estate Agency based in Hertford where he worked hard and gained promotion to Manager of the office in Old Welwyn and then also became Manager of the Knebworth office which was taken over by Country Properties in 1984.

In 1985 Tony acquired the franchise of the Country Properties office in Knebworth and stayed at that office for many years until 2006 when he moved offices to the current larger and more prominent site on the main shopping street which he continues to run to this day.  In 2007 Tony also took on the franchise of the Country Properties office in Welwyn village and he now spends his time between the two offices.

Tony is supported by a Sales administrator who is often the first point of contact for people ringing or coming into the office and with the rest of the team they all pride themselves in providing their clients with a professional, trustworthy and friendly service.  Country Properties Knebworth specialise in the sale of residential properties in Knebworth and the surrounding villages.

The properties in these areas vary from apartments and small houses, ideal for first time buyers, investors and people looking to downsize, right up to properties at the higher end of the market, up to £1m+, ideal for growing families and clients looking for larger properties with a more luxurious feel.  Some of these villages are quite rural making these locations ideal for people looking to live a quieter life but still close enough to reach the amenities of the towns which are often just a short walk/drive from main line train stations making the areas popular with commuters wanting to travel into King’s Cross and also with families.

All our staff have knowledge of our vendors and their properties that each of Tony’s offices has on the market so each member of staff can work in either office as needed and provide a service that we can all be proud of.

Thank you so much for everything, you have made our sale and purchase as stress free as possible. You are a fabulous team and also professional, highly experienced, empathetic and overall nice people! We are never moving again!! But if we did we would always come back to Country Properties!

Local area guide

Knebworth is situated between Woolmer Green, a pretty village to the south known for its picturesque duck pond and Lessiters factory (a family run business manufacturing and selling chocolates both to the public and to the trade) and Stevenage to the north, a modern town with all its shops and facilities.  Knebworth is the newer part of the village which grew up close to the historic area which dates back to Neolithic times and is now known as Old Knebworth. Old Knebworth developed round Knebworth House and its grounds.  Knebworth House and Park now hold many events from Christmas markets and car shows to pop and rock concerts and numerous other events throughout the year.  The newer part of Knebworth is a busy village with a wide variety of shops and businesses, a library, Post Office, a popular primary school and a mainline railway station.  Also being close to access to the A1(M) and other road networks Knebworth is a village with good links to other locations both nearby and further afield.  Many of the villages near Knebworth are rural/semi-rural with lovely countryside walks.  Both Datchworth and Walkern have tea rooms which prove to be a popular draw for friends wanting to meet and have a chat over tea/coffee and a homemade cake.  Datchworth has a vintage tea room which is furnished and decorated in items from a by gone era and Walkern’s tea room is award winning and very friendly.  Nearby in Benington is Benington Lordship where people can visit the gardens when they hold events throughout the year starting in February/March when they open for visitors to view the snowdrops and winter flowers.
