Biggleswade is a traditional market town in the heart of Bedfordshire. Its traditional-town feel means it’s got a great community atmosphere with the added benefit of larger towns nearby.

It’s a commuter town, sitting alongside the A1 with Stevenage and London to the south and Peterborough to the north. Biggleswade is an expanding  Market Town located approximately 40 miles North of Central London and benefits from excellent road and rail links with trains reaching London in as little as 29 minutes! Country Properties also cover all the surrounding villages and together with our sister branches in Bedford, Shefford, Stotfold and Baldock give extensive local coverage for selling or letting your property.

There is a Saturday market held in the Market Square surrounded by local shops, cafes, eateries and supermarkets and even more shopping opportunity at the retail park just off the A1 at Biggleswade (with Marks & Spencer, Next, River Island and many more household names).

There is currently 3 tier schooling of lower, middle and an upper school which attracts both buyers and tenants alike to the area. The town also benefits from a swimming pool with great leisure facilities alongside, great walks along the River Ivel, and The Green Wheel which is a walking and cycling circuit around Biggleswade, passing through areas of landscape, heritage and wildlife interest. The wheel circles the town with a number of access paths linking areas of the town to the edge of the wheel.

The nearby and sought-after John O Gaunt Golf Club offers two 18 hole golf courses, and The Lodge RSPB Nature Reserve at Sandy is also close by.
