Country Properties - COVID-19 Response

Steps we are taking to protect our staff and customers

At Country Properties, we always put our customers and staff at the heart of what we do. You will have seen that estate and letting agents in England have now been given the green light to return to work. We know that there are many customers that are looking to move, and we can get the country moving again. However, we would like to assure you that prior to opening we have taken a great deal of time and thought into making sure we act responsibly and professionally at this time.

We are committed to selling and letting properties but for us at Country Properties, it isn't just back to business as usual. We have all learned a lot through the COVID -19 pandemic and continue to do so. At Country Properties we are determined to take the best of that learning and make sure we use it for the betterment of all.

We have always known every customer is different and every customer’s situation is different, but never has that been truer than it is now. We will never lose sight of how important it is to talk to our customers and from talking and understanding we can help our customers in many ways. From virtual valuations and viewings to in-house market appraisals and property visits. As a business, we would always follow the government guidelines but for us its not just about that, it’s about making a Pledge to you, a Country Properties Pledge that says we are here to get you there, SAFELY.

If you are considering a move right now and have any property enquiry, please contact your local agent so you can discuss the best way forward for you.

The Pledge

To all our customers and colleagues. We are delighted to be coming back to work and below we outline our home visit procedures as the safety of our customers and colleagues is paramount to us. This is our pledge to all of our customers.

Sellers and Buyers

During this unprecedented time, Country Properties offices are committed to supporting current transactions and seeing them through to completion. Using My Home Move and our 24/7 e-platform* (*participating branches only) as well as the My Country Properties portal allows you to track your sale from valuation to completion entirely online.

We are continuing the marketing of our properties that are for sale in alternative pro-active ways that maintain social distancing including the use of virtual viewings.

Many properties are available to view through a virtual viewing or a video tour. With new government guidelines, we can visit properties to view, but we will only do so after qualifying buyers and ensuring they are genuinely interested in the property.

Landlords and Tenants

During this unprecedented time, Country Properties offices are committed to supporting you and we aim to continue to offer the best possible service.

We are continuing the marketing of our properties that are to let in alternative pro-active ways that maintain social distancing including the use of virtual viewings.  Many properties are available to view through a virtual viewing or a video tour. With new government guidelines, we can now visit properties to view, but we will only do so after qualifying tenants and ensuring they are genuinely interested in the property.

Landlords remain legally obligated to ensure properties meet the required standard – urgent, essential health and safety repairs and safety checks should be made for which we will make every effort to do so.

Please respect that we will have to ask pertinent questions regarding your (potential or otherwise) exposure to COVID-19.  This information will help our team and the contractors respond to your enquiry quickly and efficiently in line with the government guidance provided to us.

Self-isolating? Tenants who are currently self-isolating should continue to communicate with your local Country Properties branch as normal.

Tenants are still liable for their rent and should pay this as usual, where people face financial hardship and struggle to pay rent, support is available. In this unique context we are encouraging tenants to talk to us so we can guide them to the support available.

Much funding has been made readily available by the government to help renters so they must check whether they are receiving all the financial help available, for example; The Coronavirus Job Retention scheme, applying for Universal Credit;
www.understandinguniversalcredit.gov.uk/coronavirus/ or applying for Statutory Sick Pay; https://www.gov.uk/statutory-sick-pay.

If our Landlords or Tenants have any concerns at all about their property, rental payment or current tenancy please follow the usual communication route outlined in your tenancy agreement

*available in participating branches.
