While remote working is likely to remain a prominent part of people’s lives for some time to come, there will be many people who are resigned to returning to the office, at least on a part-time basis.
For some, this might be welcome news. The chance to see colleagues and work in different surroundings after more than a year of home working might offer relief for some professionals.
However, there will be many people who will not enjoy the commute to and from the office. Remote working is one thing, and it has created a lot of freedom when it comes to where you can live and work.
We think Hitchin has a lot to offer
This is why there is an increasing focus on commuter towns, and it is fair to say Hertfordshire has a lot to offer. Even before the pandemic, many professionals set up home here, giving their family a fantastic setting while they made a relatively simple trip to the heart of the capital each day.
That hasn’t changed, but the amount of people who are now interested in this sort of lifestyle has grown significantly. The HertsLive website has recently named some of the leading areas in Hertfordshire that are drawing people to it thanks to the commuter benefits, and we are delighted to say Hitchin is on the list!
You know fine well that we love Hitchin and support the local area in everything we do. We believe this is a tremendous place to stay, and that there is a lot to love about the local area. However, we really love to see other people say the same, and if you are keen to see what the local media outlet said about Hitchin, you can see this below:
“This town’s quaint centre, cobbled streets and array of independent shops and restaurants are a hit with families. Don't forget about the area's stunning lavender fields too. Regular trains from Hitchin station take just 33 minutes to get to St Pancras International though single tickets are on the pricey side, at about £17.90.”
As people start to return to work, it is worthwhile looking out for rail deals, or discounts for irregular use. If you don’t need to be in the office every day, it might be more affordable to buy passes you can use as and when.
Hitchin schools receive high praise
Hitchin featured in the top five of Hertfordshire locations for commuters, with local schools receiving praise too. It was noted that Hitchin Boys’ and Girls’ School academies were classed as “Outstanding” by Ofsted, which is always a tremendous starting point for parents considering an area to live in.
Currently, in line with Government guidelines, our Hitchin branch is open and our sales and lettings team are on hand to assist you. To clients old and new, if you have any queries or need advice on property sales and lettings then please call 01462 452951 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
