While there is a lot to like about life in Royston, we believe the sense of community spirit is one of the strongest elements about local life.
There are many events lined up for this month, and if you want to get a feel for why life is so great in Royston, check out what is taking place close to home.
Give something back to the community
One of the reasons Royston is such a vibrant place to live is because so many of the residents play an active part in the local area. A fantastic example of this can be seen with the Friends of the Therfield Heath Litter Pick. In July, this will take place on Sunday the 11th. The event starts at 9.30 am, and litter picking sticks and bags will be provided.
Anyone looking to attend should congregate at the main car pick, and all attendees are advised to wear suitable clothes and clothing. The activity doesn’t last too long, but it helps to preserve the local area, and you get to feel as though you are playing your part in caring for the community.
For those about to rock…we might join you!
We all know the live music scene has been decimated across the country for some time, and this is something that many people have missed. The people who rely on live music and events to make a living have been harshly treated, but anyone who enjoys attending live music events has missed out on a lot over the past year.
In the grand scheme of things, it is far from the biggest complaint anyone will have, but that said, it is pleasing to see live music on the schedule for Royston this month.
On Saturday the 17th of July, the Melbourn Rock Club on Whaddon Road will host a busy night of live music that is sure to be rocking! Blind River are the headliners with support from Daxx & Roxane with Brazen Bull also on the bill. Doors are scheduled for 8pm, and the tickets are priced at £12.
As with everything these days, be sure to double check the event remains on before you set off, but all being well, this will be a great night out that helps people get back to the things they love in life.

· Royston and District Motorcycle Show – 21st of July, Eternit Sports and Social Club, Whaddon Rd
