We are delighted to say there many Autumn events in Hitchin, and there are plenty of ways for you and your family to have fun this year, without venturing far.

If you are wanting to stay fit and active in the Autumn there are plenty of healthy activities and group events in Hitchin over the next few weeks. No matter your fitness levels or how committed you are to being energetic, you'll find there are plenty of ways to make the most of the next few months.
Hertfordshire Health Walks are well worth looking out for. There are various events in Hitchin, and surrounding areas, so if you're looking for safe walks led by qualified leaders, you'll love what is on offer.
If you like the idea of being active, but you'd prefer to remain indoors and you’re looking for something a little more sociable, St John's Road Community Hall has folk dancing every Monday evening.
If dancing isn't your thing, why not go for a walk while learning about the local area. The Hitchin Historical Society has plenty of exciting events lined up, and this walk will allow you to look at your town centre in a whole new light.

If you enjoy craft events, you'll be delighted to learn of the new monthly craft sale at the British Schools Museum. You can add Sunday the 6th of October to your diary, and the event will on the first Sunday of the month, so you can start a new month with some craft fun.
Enjoy musical nights out in Hitchin this Autumn
When it comes to having a great reason to leave the house, many people love music. No matter what sort of musical genre you love, there is a lot coming up. If you like nothing more than enjoying the sounds of a symphony, Saturday the 23rd of November the Hitchin Symphony Orchestra performs the Janet's Golden Jubilee Concert.
The event celebrates the 90th year of the orchestra and the 50th anniversary of Janet Hicks becoming the leader of the band.
If you prefer something a bit more poppy and commercial, there are a couple of tribute band concerts coming soon. Lovers of Bon Jovi or Oasis should get ready for a great night as Hitchin will rock out to the songs made famous by these bands.
If you want to have a flavour-filled fun time, look out for the Hitchin Taco Wars 2019 event, taking place on Saturday the 5th of October. Eight local independent businesses battle it out with eight tacos, and there will be one champion declared at the end of the event. Hitchin Market Place is the place to be if you want to support local businesses while enjoying fantastic food. The entry price allows you to enjoy a taco from each entrant, a bottle of Corona, a soft drink and some other goodies.
Hitchin Halloween and Bonfire events
If you want something a bit different from the traditional Halloween events, the Light Party 19 taking place on the 31st of October might be of interest. If you would rather have classic Halloween fun, why not check out Uva Wine Bar & Shop on Monday the 28th of October, where there will be a pumpkin carving event. A must for Halloween lovers! The person who carves the best pumpkin will receive a £25 wine credit!
The Hitchin Fireworks event is scheduled for Sunday the 3rd of November at Hitchin Priory. The doors to the event open at 4pm, the bonfire lighting ceremony takes place at 5pm, and the fireworks take place at 6.30pm, so you can have great fun and be home before it is too late in the evening!
