When it comes to summing up the flavour of Country Properties Biggleswade, I’d say it’s our team – and our teamwork – that makes the difference.
We (Irma and Sophie) started working together more than a decade ago, when Sophie was Irma’s fresh-faced,17-year-old apprentice! We quickly realised we worked together well – although we had no idea at that time that we’d eventually decide to run a business together. Our backgrounds are very different. Sophie was born, brought up and educated in the area – a local girl through and through. Irma, on the other hand, is from South Africa, where she ran her own estate agency business, before moving to the UK with her husband to find a better future for her then teenage son. There’s quite an age gap too, which we consider a genuine strength when it comes to our different skills – as well as our ability to understand our varied clients’ needs and dreams. And when it comes to making those dreams come true, Biggleswade has plenty to offer. A market town for almost 800 years, it continues to be a thriving shopping destination and acts as a lively hub for the chocolate-box villages, such as Sutton, that surround it. Biggleswade is an expanding market town located 40 miles north of central London.
There’s a busy high street in the town, with exciting independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as national high street names. Biggleswade has many things to do, great transport, fantastic amenities, and a strong local community. The town benefits from excellent road and rail links. Biggleswade train station has direct, regular trains to London and Peterborough providing a great service for commuters. It’s also close to the A1, giving easy access to larger towns nearby (such as Bedford or Stevenage) as well as cities in the north and London.

Myself and my partner bought our house through Country Properties, and honestly they were absolutely fantastic. The whole team went above and beyond to offer support, provide updates and accommodated lots of requests.
